Google recently carried out some maintenance work on the Android Oreo 8.0 and upgraded it to the Android Oreo 8.1.   If you’re an avid Android enthusiast, you may have already scoped many of the modifications that are to come on your smartphone. Modest improvements have been made to the user interface, alongside some minor bug fixes and enhancements to the overall user experience. However, some of the upgrades on your smartphone will not feature on our Android Oreo 8.1 head units.

Android Oreo 8.1 - Improved UI

One of the first things you will notice is that the Android Oreo 8.1 operating system interface has had another upgrade. There are several elements which contribute the the more modern UI, noticeably the vibrant colours and sharp resolution. On top of that, there are a few other elements to be noted:

  • Quick Settings Menu
  •   The quick settings panel provides greater access to information regarding key elements such as battery life and available storage. The quick setting panel also adjusts its transparency according to your theme and background, in order for it to be super visible at all times.

  • Savvy Navigation
  •   By introducing additional navigational options not only will you benefit from a swift and smoother experience when flicking between your apps but you will save time and energy too. Said navigation buttons also have an auto dimming feature, reducing in brightness when the screen is not touched for some time.     PR78QSF-B-03

  • Inactive Apps
  •   The recent apps menu has managed to determine apps which haven’t been used for a while or become inactive. From here, the Android Oreo 8.1 technology will reduce their cache size, limit the menu to just four apps, so that the RAM consumption is reduced. The Google Play services have also been modularised, to reduce its memory footprint.

Android Oreo 8.1 - Technological Improvements

  • Winning at Wifi
  •   For the first time ever, Android Oreo 8.1 will identify the speed of Wifi networks, before you choose to connect. Showcasing the signal and speed of the networks will help you make an informed decision via the four parameters of: very fast, fast, OK and slow. However, if you don’t like this function, it can be turned off.

  • Happy Hardware
  •   Our Android Oreo 8.1 car stereos pack a mega 2G RAM + 16G ROM as standard. Therefore, you will be guaranteed the most rapid and sensationally smooth performance you’ve ever experienced. The updating of applications and ability to add exciting new features becomes even easier due to the improved hardware.

  • Octa-Core Overhaul
  •   We all know the benefits of our Octa-Core processors but we’ve teamed it up with the Allwinner T8 processor which packs 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB ROM helping to deliver quicker launch requests, smoother gameplay and video playback as well as enhancing the general, overall performance and of your head unit.     PR78QSF-B-02
